At the Birthplace of Texas Freedom

I am siitting in the park surrounding the Alamo in San Antonio, Texas.

In 1836 two hundred Texans were defeated by 3,000 Mexican troops laying seige to the Alamo fort. Texas broke away from Mexico and a Mexican army was sent to crush the rebellion.

Jim Bowie died in the seige along with Davy Crockeet. The legend of Jim Bowie lives on in the most fearsome knife with his name.

I just got done touring the Alamo. This is a very special place. They have a nice museam. The park surrounding the Alamo is very nice.

Also docents present a talk on the history of the place and the battle about every 15 minutes.

Santa Ana the Mexican President and leader of the force sent to put down the rebellion in Texas was attempting to keep a strong central government when several groups in mexico did not want that.

We are doing the same thing in Iraq now.
