Shuttle Program Director Up and Outed.

The Space Shuttle's program director moved to a new job according to this article in the NY Times. The Space Shuttle director's job would be very challenging. The complexity of the vehicle, the shut down date in 2010, and the foam problem on the external tank, along with the ego's that person must need to deal with.

I would suspect that the shuttle team is working hard to keep the vehicle flying past 2010. Hoping that a new president will keep the shuttle in space.

This is my hope as well. I think we should be building an improved and modified STS using the database of knowledge gained while operating the STS. Not trying to rebuild Apollo for more money.
