The Antelope Valley Press had this article about the re-assembly of a B-52 for the Joe Davies Air Park in Palmdale. Palmdale has spent a lot of money $440,000 to acquire an airplane that is common. This page
on Wikipedia lists all the surviving B-52's on display. Two B-52's are already at the Air Force Flight Test Center Museum
including 008 which was used to launch lifting bodies and the X-15. Another B-52 can be viewed at the March Field Air Museum
. Palmdale could have spent this money to obtain and restore the D-558 located on a pole at AV College. Or perhaps an aircraft that was actually built at Plant 42. An aircraft that is more significant to the Antelope Valley.
