War of the Words- Not

I saw war of the worlds a few weeks ago. The coolest part of the movie was Tom Cruise coming around the corner in a Shelby Mustang (GT-350H). The movie was a pretty big let down after that. I thought Tom Cruise's character just came off as a pretty dumb. His son surviving the alien attack and then walking to Boston must have been added to keep an audience focus group happy. I read in Wired magazine how they completed all the filming and special effects in record time, not wonder half the movie was extras running around in panic. The special effects may have been economically ground breaking but certainly not cinematically ground breaking. I only wish I had picked Mr. And Mrs. Smith.
